It’s that time again, time to take a step back and refresh ourselves, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In September, the Adirondack and CABA associations of American Baptist Women will be holding our Fall Retreat, the perfect opportunity for peaceful rest and renewal for all Christian women. We hope that you will plan to join us for one, two, or three days of fellowship, recharging our batteries, and strengthening our
faith at the beautiful Christ the King Center in the scenic hills of rural Washington County.

With Thursday arrival, again this year, we are offering an optional extra,
unstructured day of rest and relaxation, time for you to spend as you like, renewing friendships or making new ones, sharing a time of fellowship, spending quiet time with God, all while enjoying the beauty of NY in the fall on the vast grounds of the retreat center. There are trails to explore, quiet spots for time alone, lovely rooms if napping is on the agenda, and a row of comfortable rocking chairs just waiting for you. Friday afternoon tea with the nuns will be an option for those who arrive before 3:00.

This year, our keynote speaker will be Colleen Charsky, president of ABWM/NYS. Our theme will be “Let the Walls Fall Down”, encouraging us to seek more unity and sisterly care for each other in this chaotic world. Also joining us will be Pastor Pamela Bolton who will lead us in a Bible study; our Mission speaker will share information about Troy’s Capital City Rescue Mission with us. Our mission gifts this year will be items donated as well as monetary donations to this wonderful program. (More information will be in your letter of confirmation.)

On Friday evening, following dinner together at 6:00 PM, the structured activities will begin for our weekend retreat.  Check-in and registration will begin at 1:00PM in the Welcome Center. If you choose to arrive earlier, for lunch, please note that on the registration form. An additional $15.00 will be charged for your lunch. “Daytimers” registration will be at 9:00AM on
Saturday morning, in the foyer of the Great Hall. Arrive early if you’d like, and join us for breakfast at 8:00 AM, for an additional $13.00. At Christ the King Center, the main lodging facility will be The King’s Inn, a beautiful one-story building with a lovely, comfortable gathering area, double rooms with private baths, and a sunny porch complete with those rocking chairs. The King’s Inn also has two handicapped-accessible rooms. Single rooms are available for an additional cost.

We hope that you will join us as we offer additional opportunities for enrichment and growth as Christian women.

Scholarship funds are available.
